This unique property is early 19th Century injected with lively and exciting design from the new, reclaimed and specially commissioned furniture to the bespoke wallpaper and lighting.
This property has been designed for with all ages in mind with playful touches like the tipi for camping in the grounds and the natural swimming pond, tranquil hillside views and exquisite features such as the luxury indoor pool.

The grounds at THE OXBOW offer a variety of options for the whole family. On the lawn below the terrace you can set up croquet or badminton. There is a natural swimming pond , a river to row on, or to fish for trout.

Beyond the river and over one of the two bridges there are walkways cut into the hill amongst trees and ancient ferns and in the spring it is bluebell heaven.
There is an island with a Tee Pee and a pizza oven, a camping area , and a play area with swings and a trampoline. Sit on the terrace and listen to your children as they create adventures , crossing the river by a rope bridge, setting up camp and toasting marshmallows on the camp fire. Towards the field barn is a fenced off field with some sheep and chickens...feel free to pick up your breakfast eggs.

THE GYM
The gym is well equipped with professional Life Fitness equipment.The equipment includes
Treadmill, Exercise  bike, X  trainer, Multi  gym, Free weights, Kettle bells, Medicine Balls

THE POOL 
Measures 10m by 5m and is heated like the rest of the house by a combination of wood (from the grounds), air and sun.

There is also an 8 person steam room, Luxury Towels are provided.

THE WALLED GARDEN.
Kitchen Garden and the fruits of this labour can be harvested at your leisure [subject to availability]. Such like red/green lettuce, salad leaves/flowers inc nasturtium, borage, rocket, mizuna, beet, sorrel, spring onions red/green, garlic, french beans, sugar snaps, mange tout, carrots, potatoes, beet root, chard, various herbs inc, parsley, sage, rosemary & thyme, basil, coriander, some chilies.
Fruits such as strawberries inc. wild woodland varieties, raspberries, blueberries(ripening)and white/red/black currants, rhubarb, and peaches.

NATURAL SWIMMING POND
If you have never swum in a natural swimming pond you are in for a treat. Fed by THE OXBOW's very own spring water (which also supplies the rest of the house) and kept in perfect balance by the plants , swimming in drinking water, surrounded by nature ,is a real pleasure.
There are three access points...a little 'beach', a jetty and a diving rock and carved into the hill below the pool is a changing room and shower

CONFERENCE CENTRE
The Barn attached to the Pool and Gym has been converted to provide facilities for a small conference or away day retreat. There is a fully connected 60 inch plasma, sonos music system, a soft seating area and a boardroom table with seating for up to 16 people. There are white boards as well and across the corridor to the main room an office with 2 workstations if people need to plug into the office.
For personal bookings the conference area becomes a great home cinema. There is also two sky HD accounts and a full package of channels on offer.

ROOM CONFIGURATION:  All bar one of the bedrooms have en suite wet rooms and there is a standalone family bathroom. Luxury towels and a selection of bathroom products are there to be used but not taken away! We will talk to you about your preferred configuration. 6 bedrooms in the main house, all king or super king bar one twin. There is an 'apartment' which has sleeping for up to 4. A large bedroom beyond the pool can be used as a king size room or turned into a kids 'dorm' with 4 beds. Finally, there is a super king bedroom above the barn.
