THE BEACH HOUSE

On your approach you will be drawn to the slick lines of the silver weathered timber facade of the Beach House perched on this spectacular stretch of coastline with its fossil packed cliffs and the miles of unspoilt beaches. Burton Bradstock is one of the main gateways to the Jurassic Coast and the South West Coast Path.

There are 3 bedrooms - a twin room with a truckle bed to take 3 children or two adults, a double and upstairs a hideaway room with a further double bed with a fold out futon option that could therefore enable  3 or 4 for a short break. There is a bathroom with bath/shower and selection of products there to be used but not taken away! Linen and towels are supplied but please bring your own beach towels.

To the right is Chesil Beach – one of the UK’s foremost natural wonders with a huge natural sandback that stretches 18 miles from West Bay to Portland. Affectionately known as The Chesil in honour of its uniqueness, children will love spending the day searching for fossils and collecting driftwood to make their own works of art once back at base. The Fleet lagoon behind the beach is teeming with fish and sea anemones.

A short drive from the house is Abbotsbury Beach, with stunning views across to Portland. After a walk along the coast visit the village and its Swannery, Sub Tropical Gardens and Children’s Farm.

Take a trip to Lyme Regis – perfect for sandcastle making, admiring the fish in the Marine Aquarium and fishing trips. With crystal clear waters the beach is great for swimming.

Along the coast all watersports are available for you to try, from water skiing to sea fishing, surfing to sailing. Some great pubs are just a few miles from the Cabin, including The Three Horseshoes at Powerstock or The Marquis of Lome at Nettlestock. Or head to Seatown and find The Anchor right on the beach.

There is are wonderful eateries very nearby.  Hive Beach Cafe is right on the beach just yards from the Cabin. River Cottage HQ is also a short drive, as is Hix Oyster and Fish House in Lyme Regis. Hix Oyster Bar is set in a fantastic location – perfect for a meal or a glass of champagne and some oysters after pottering around the Cobb and enjoying this classic, unspoilt seaside town.
